The 69th Primetime Emmys premiered last night, September 17th on CBS. There was a huge amount of Black talent nominated. Everything from actors, actresses, writers, directors, and producers were nominated. Scroll down to read about the winners.
1. Sterling K. Brown
He won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role on "This Is Us" and gave the blackest speech possible to accompany that. They tried to play the music and get Sterling off the stage but our guy held his own.
2. Donald Glover
Donald won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on FX's "Atlanta".
3. Lena Waithe
Lena won, along with Aziz Ansari, for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series writing on Netflix's "Master of None".
Sadly, only three Black people took home Emmy's, but we are more than proud of their contributions that they have given to the television arena. They also looked fly doing it.
