CoCo Gauff Receives Wild Card Entry For U.S. Open

At just 15 years old, Florida native CoCo Gauff has accomplished more in her lifetime than the average human being. She not only managed to make history three times in her lifetime as the youngest qualifier for Wimbledon, youngest U.S. Open junior finalist, and youngest winner in 25 years of the French Open Junior title at only fourteen years-old, but she defeated one of the greatest tennis players in the world. Moving up in the WTA (Women's Tennis Association) rankings from 313th to No. 140 in just one tournament, has earned her the opportunity to play in one of the oldest tennis tournaments in US History. A finalist of the U.S. Open Junior title at thirteen, CoCo is no stranger in playing for the Championship title on center court. Yet, once again she will be facing athletes almost twice her age in the WTA bracket. This will be significantly different for her as she mainly won Junior titles defeating young girls closer to her age. However, fear never once stopped her from defeating Tennis legend Venus Williams 6-4, 6-4 a couple of months ago in the Wimbledon tournament. Fear also never stopped her from becoming the youngest in history to accomplish so many great feats in such little time and continuously dominating in every tennis match at only 15 years old. Furthermore, the courage, tenacity, and gut that this young woman attains is truly inspiring and exciting to watch. Good luck to CoCo as she chases her first ever U.S. Open Title as a WTA player!
