Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert has been named the Defensive Player of the year for the 2020-2021 NBA Season.

Gobert has spent 7 years with the Jazz, after initially being traded on draft night and selected 27th overall in 2013 by the Denver Nuggets. Gobert's hustle, drive, and out-right domination on the court has now handed him his 3rd DPOY award in his career ('18, '19, '21).

In 585 career games, Gobert has been named the 2016-2017 blk champ, a 2x-All Star, 3x All-NBA, and 4x All-defensive. In just this season alone, he has led with 13.5 rebounds and 190 blocks.

Gobert is now tied with Philadelphia 76ers center Dwight Howard, for 3 career DPOY awards. Dikemebe Mutombo and Ben Wallace are the only other two who lead in NBA history with 4 career DPOY awards.

Following Gobert, Ben Simmons (76ers) and Draymond Green (Golden State) finished in 2nd and 3rd for the DPOY title.

Currently seeded #1 in the eastern conference, the Utah Jazz led by Donovan Mitchell and Gobert are leading the Jazz-Clippers series 1-0.
