In the world of reboots, reunions, and show revisits, it is by no surprise that one of the 90's most heralded sitcoms is getting a reunion special. Martin premiered on Fox on August 27, 1992. The show was record breaking and was a part of building Fox's brand when it came to original programming. The show ended on May 1, 1997. After 132 episodes and almost 25 years since it has gone off the air, the gang is back together to celebrate everything that Martin is and was.
The 30th anniversary special will premiere on BET+, and will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment. This is not Collins' Entertainment first collaboration with BET. They are the powerhouse behind some of the network's most notable programming including the BET Awards, Black Girls Rock, and The New Edition Story.
The Martin anniversary special is set to premiere this summer and will feature the original cast including Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne II. Thomas Mikal Ford who played the character of Tommy, Martin and Cole's bestifriend and Pam's on and off again boyfriend, tragically passed away in 2016.
