Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx Star in Bryan Stevenson Adaptation

This morning marked the release of the trailer for the film Just Mercy, an adaptation of the bestseller novel by lawyer and social justice activist Bryan Stevenson.

The trailer stars Jordan playing Stevenson, fighting the wrongful conviction of Walter McMillian, played by Foxx.

The film will also include Brie Larson and O'Shea Jackson Jr on the cast.

The film is said to be released as early as Christmas of this year.

The book Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption was released back in 2014 and has since received a great deal of critical acclaim, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work. Stevenson still currently works as the Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative today.
