After declaring for the NBA Draft following the completion of only his freshman year at Duke University, Zion Williamson was recently selected as the No.1 pick of the 2019 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. During his time at Duke, Zion became a dynamic force on the court averaging 22.6 points per game, alongside former teammate R.J. Barrett. While Zion was unfortunately injured during his freshman season, and many considered this the opportunity for him to stay another year at Duke and play college ball, he stood firm and followed his dream to play in the NBA. Although his future is quite uncertain as a19 year-old in a league filled with other talented and skilled NBA masterminds, Williamson has given us all a taste of his greatness during snippets of his performance in the Summer League. Nevertheless, him being named the Best College Athlete at the ESPY Awards show, showcases just how much young talent and excitement that he is bringing to the league.
