If you aren't living your best life in 2019, wyd?

As this year comes to an end it's imperative to reflect on the year and it's entirety. We're constantly hearing someone say, "I'm living my best life" but what exactly does that mean? What are the requirements to living one's best life? At what point do you decide to live your best life? If you weren't living your best life before what are you doing now? How can I live my best life? When can I start living my best life? Read below for some quick tips on how to live your best life in 2019.
These are all questions I have been dying to know the answers to, but truly it's fairly simplistic. Living your best life is whatever you want it to be. Focusing on school, securing that internship/job you want, eating good, finding a boo, not worrying about finding a boo, reading "The Film Culture" or simply getting 8 hours of sleep a night. There isn’t a concrete definition to what “living my best life” means. It’s extremely subjective and it’s never too late to start. You have complete control of your own life and how you want to live it, so if you want to live your best life what are you waiting for?

Here’s 5 quick tips to living your best life:
1. "Meditate and Yoga"
Meditating and practicing yoga is a way to improve focus, stress management, self awareness, and fitness. By meditating and doing yoga your body will instantly feel more relieved and calm as you're going through a transitional period in your life.
2. "Release bad vibes/energy"
Any bad vibes or people that affect your ka (energy) needs to be put on hold or on the side until you feel as though you can tolerate them again. It's okay to be selfish sometimes and put yourself first.
3. "Smile"
As cliche as it sounds, smiling has been proven to show a positive impact on one’s self esteem, self worth, and self value. The saying, “It takes more muscles to frown than smile” is extremely true and smiling never hurt anybody.
4. "Listen to good music"
You know that feeling you get when your favorite songs comes on? Yeah, that one. Imagine feeling that feeling all the time. It’s real quick and easy to play your favorite songs or playlist to get you in the mood to feel your best. So, why not feel like that all the time?

5. "Take a break and read"
We all know how busy life can be while being a college student, so it’s essential to take a break once in a while to collect your mental, emotional, and physical health. Take a stroll, a nap, watch a movie, or read "The Film Culture". Simply do something that relaxes you and your mind that will allow you to feel as stress free as possible.

“I’m living my best life” has become such a phenomenon, comedian and rapper Lil Duval released a song featuring everyone’s favorite Uncle-- Snoop Dogg and Ball Greezy. The song is titled “Smile (Living My Best Life)” and it’s about being free of any worries and stress within every aspect of their lives. Not only has Lil Duval dived into the realm of ‘living his best life’ but Erykah Badu’s backup singer, Durand Bernarr released a song titled “FNF” about his freedom from being done with men and expressing his happiness for cutting out all of the bad vibes in his life. Cardi B also released a song earlier this year featuring Chance the Rapper titled "Best Life" in which the chorus is "I'm living my best life made a couple M's with my best friends turned all my L's into lessons... dreams pulling up like skrrt... it's my birthday at least that's what I'm dressed like." This song is to motivate and reaffirm to all of us to be the very best versions of ourselves that we can be.
So, it’s safe to say it’s time to start living your best life in 2019, The Film Culture way!
